Have you lost your dog? Pointers that may help

1.      The police have 2 ' Lost Dogs ' books ... get them to check both ; There is the ordinary one and then the police dog unit one too ... If your dog is picked up by the police dog unit , it wont be in the other

2.      Poster every tree, lampost, wall, shop, bus stop you can find

3.      Stand on the streets, talk to people , LOOK THEM IN THE EYES... give them a leaflet, put a meaning to the poster, that a member of your family is missing and let then know you are not going to give up ... no matter what or how long it takes

4.      Go to the local bus depots, Royal Mail offices, Milkmen, vets, dog parlours and talk to them ... these people are walking the streets night and day and could be your eyes and ears ...

5.      Stand outside schools and hand out leaflets to parents as they are coming and going

6.      Enlist the help of your local community of Travellers / Gypsies ... They might not have them , but they are more likely to know the criminal activity going on in your area... and it was ultimately because of them that i found our dog

7.      Check out and monitor your local addicts ... These scum steal dogs and trade them for a bag of smack to their dealers .... and they will also search for your dog at the thought of being able to fund their habit with the reward money

8.      Walk the cages of your local dog homes ... some of them are remote and do not have chipping scanners ... they will also be able to tell you of any dog fighting activity in your area..

9.      Pound the estates ... speak to the dregs of society ... tell them you're not giving up and that you dont care who has your dog, or about police ... That you just want your dog back..

10.  Battersea have 2 branches .. one in central London and one in Windsor ... Check both sites ..

The key is out there ... someone, somewhere knows what has happened to and where your dog is ... you just have to find the link ... they are out there somewhere / dogs, like people, do not just disappear ... DONT GIVE UP ...

Our dog was missing for a week .. His torment started when he ran off , the police dog unit picked him up and the local police didnt check that book ... he was also in Battersea Windsor, not Central, and had 2 ID numbers .... A week of pounding the streets, postering , sleepless nights and talking to addicts / dealers could have been avoided if only the police had checked that other book .... we got him back 2 hours before he was due to be re-homed !!
